The Bishop of Kasese Catholic diocese Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira on Saturday, May 6, 2023 threatened to work on the appalling roads in Kitagwenda district after leaders failed to fulfill their pledge.

Last month, residents raised an alarm over the poor state of roads in the district, something that has paralyzed businesses in most parts of the district.
Speaking during the wedding ceremony of Mr. And Mrs. African at Kicwamba Catholic parish, Bishop Kibira noted that since the inception of the district, no achievement has been made in terms of infrastructural development.
He faulted leaders, including MPs and the district leadership of failure to follow up the matter of a tarmac road that was dropped from the national development plan.
The tough speaking prelate who said he will mobilize resources to rehabilitate roads asked residents to vote capable leaders who are able to deliver to their expectations.
Bishop Kibira condemned the area MPs for failure to lobby for improvement service delivery but instead promote their personal agenda.
Bishop Kibira in a tough tone said such leaders should never appear in church again seeking blessings and publicity when service delivery has failed. He threatened to mobilize the public to stage a demonstration against poor service delivery in the district.
