Ibanda municipality has become the first, among municipalities and cities in Uganda to launch parish revolving fund.

On December 14, 2022,the Vice President of Uganda, Hon. Jessica Alupo officiated at the national launch of the Parish Revolving funds pillar No.3 (Financial inclusion) of PDM at Ntenjeru football ground in Kayunga district. Ibanda district was also the first district after the national launch on October 20, 2022.

Under Financial Inclusion (Pillar 3), Parish Revolving Fund, will be operating through 10,594 PDM SACCOS, countrywide.

While giving a status report on the progress of PDM in Ibanda municipality at Ibanda-Kibubura integrated primary school, Juvenari Byarugaba the municipal production officer said most of the required processes have been done.

During the launch over 600 members of PDM SACCOs in the municipality received 1 million seed capital and said they would use it to improve production to boost household income.

The mayor Ibanda municipality Twiine Apollo Kibeherere said it was an opportunity for the municipality and asked members to embrace it for changing their lives.

The RDC Ibanda district Joseph Drake Mukiibi who asked for more training for effectiveness of the program asked beneficiaries to utilize well the funds. He vowed to monitor and supervise the operations of the program.

Officiating at the launch JovrineKalisa Kyomukama the deputy national coordinator PDM who represented Minister Rafael Magyezi directed all commercial officers to release money to that has been held on the accounts to the beneficiaries .she asked beneficiaries to utilize the money to fight poverty. She also asked members with a negative mind over the program to stop.
