STUDENTS TO ACESS SUPPLEMENTARY NUTRIOUS DIET AT MAHYORO SS.
Students at Mahyoro secondary school, in Mahyoro town council will have access to better nutrition following support from an American professor.
The donation was made possible through support from Angela Wales an American professor, a friend to the school after who got concerned after visiting the school recently.
Students have only been feeding on posho and beans at lunch and supper for boarders.
According to Denis Baguma the head teacher Mahyoro secondary school who doubles as the chairperson Kitagwenda head teachers’ association; students will now eat nutritious meals such as rice, vegetables, greens, beans mixed with g.nuts sauces among others.
He hopes that this will enhance the students’ performance.
He added that professor Angela has also boosted ICT services at the school which will enhance the students’ and staff expertise in ICT skills
Collins Mugume the deputy head teacher Mahyoro secondary school said the program which started today will officially be launched in the school next year.
He is optimistic the program will boost the school’s academic standards.
Some of the students who talked to our reporter after the meal as well as the ICT lessons said the initiative will help them to boost their academic as well as their health status.
