Stakeholders in greater Kashangura in Kagongo division Ibanda Municipality are seeking way forward on their lost Kashangura Health Center III.

In a meeting held yesterday, attended by area councilors, local council one Chairperson, well-wishers and the Division mayor, members sought for immediate action as the facility serves many people including others from neighboring districts.

In a letter written on October 18, 2022 and seen by our reporter, permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Dr Diana Atwiine wrote to the Ibanda District Chief Administrative Officer saying that the requested funds to upgrade Kashangura health center II be used to upgrade Birongo Health center II in Ibanda north.

It adds that Kashangura health center II is located in the Municipality, asserting that there was need to relocate the funds to another facility.

According to the Kasangura ward Chairperson LCII, David Kizza, the facility serves almost 49 cells and other neighboring districts and there is urgent need to upgrade it.

Godfrey Kamagara who represents Kagongo Division in the District council asked the municipality member of parliament to give a clear response over the matter.

The secretary for finance at Ibanda municipal council and the male youth counselor for Ibanda Municipal council, Moses Kakikiri said the diversion of Kashangura HCIII funds was due to laziness of the Ibanda leadership.

Meanwhile, the Kagongo division LCIII chairman, Adriano Kweyamba told our reporter that the meeting was convened to find a way forward over the matter.
