Ntabahara spot hill rehabilitated, residents jubilate

Residents of Ntabahara cell, Mahyoro Sub County, Kitagwenda Sub County have a cause to smile after Ntabahara spot hill was rehabilitated by the ministry of works and transport.
The Ministry of Works this week commenced emergency upgrades on Ntabahara Hill, a notorious black spot along the Ibanda-Kabujogera-Mahyoro road, bringing relief to road users who have long struggled with its treacherous terrain. This followed an intensive engagement between the district woman member of parliament hon.Dorothy Nyakato Nzibonera and ministry of works and transport.
The 25.5-kilometer road, vital for transporting cattle and agricultural produce among Kasese,Kitagwenda and Ibanda districts, has for years posed serious risks due to a large rock in the middle of the road and poor terrain.
Doreen Kukunda, a civil engineer from the Ministry of Works, confirmed that the ongoing works are temporary solutions aimed at easing movement in the short term.
Residents told our reporter that many people have died along the spot area due to its terrain and needed to be upgraded to safeguard people.
They have commended the woman Member of Parliament hon. Dorothy Nyakato Nzibonera who pressed the ministry of works to do an emergency on the spot.
