In a bid to reduce respiratory diseases, Kazire Health products limited has through its research and innovation produced a pharmaceutical medicine dubbed VIDICINE, approved by the Ministry of Health.

The medicine which has been under a long process of research, production, testing and approval for over seven years, has finally been recognized by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on February 06, 2025 during his speech on Tarehe Sita celebrations in Kyotera District.

Museveni said that the drug after its final clinical study by National Drug Authority and the Ministry of Health is able to be effective in less than four days. Made out of African natural vegetation, Vidicine drug has so far been sent to other countries including DRC, Tanzania as well as Arab countries.

Speaking to journalists from his office in Mbarara, Dr Edward Kaziire the proprietor and the Chief Executive Officer of Kazire Health Products Limited, said Vidicine has been made in such a way that it even increases human body immunity thus helping the body defend itself against several other illnesses apart on top of cough, influenza, asthma and other respiratory illnesses. He said Kazire Health Products are in plan to have a discussion with the government to see on how to include Parish Development Model (PDM) and Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) programs so that people can start planting vegetation from which this and other drugs are manufactured thus creating employment for a sizeable number of Ugandans.
