Kitagwenda,Ibanda residents resort to community work to maintain an access bridge

Residents of Kyabwanswa cell in Kicwamba ward, Kitagwenda town council, Kitagwenda district and Rwenkuba cell, in Kijongo Sub County, Ibanda district have today joined hands to repair an access bridge to ease movement of people and transportation of goods.
The temporary bridge connects Kitagwenda town council in Kitagwenda district and Rwambu in Kijongo sub county Ibanda district. However, the access bridge was damaged by the recent rains making movement impassable.
Residents say that through community work, they decided to open culverts donated by Hon.Jovrine Kalisa Kyomukama which were damaged by the rain.
They want the government to intervene and construct a permanent bridge to enable vehicles carrying agricultural produce to access markets in both sub counties.
They have commended Hon.Sadic Muntu the district councilor Kitagwenda town council and hon.Jovrine Kalisa Kyomuka former woman MP Ibanda who previously supported them to work on the access bridge.
In response, hon.Sadic Mwesige Muntu pledged more support to upgrade the access bridge to ease movement of people and goods.
