KITAGWENDA TOWN COUNCIL APPROVES BUDGET OF 208,999,730 MILLION SHILLINGS FOR FINANCIAL YEAR 2025/2026

The council of Kitagwenda town council has today approved the budget of 208,999,730 million shillings for the financial year 2025/2026.

The motion to pass the budget has been presented by the secretary of finance, works and administration Kitagwenda town council Hon Ruth Twikirize during the last council meeting for the financial year 2024/2025 that was chaired by speaker Jonan Ahairwe.

This budget is slightly higher than one of 2024/2025 financial year since it was for 170,009,716 million shillings.

According to the secretary for finance Ruth Twikirize, they expect 96,540,100 million shillings from local revenue, 48,340,680 million shillings from urban unconditional grant, 7 million shillings for special grant for audit, 19,486,557 from discretionary development equalisation grant DDEG and road fund 37,632,385 million shillings all totalling their budget of 208,999,730 million shillings.

In his communication, the town council speaker Mr Jonan Ahairwe hailed the political and technical staff for working together as a team to develop the Town council. He also congratulated chairperson LCIII upon being elected NRM vice chairman Kitagwenda district.

Meanwhile; the chairperson LCIII for Kitagwenda town council Mr Patrick Turyamureeba Payi called upon councilors to work as a team to retain their positions adding that on the budget, much emphasis must be put in the works department mostly on road maintenance.
