KITAGWENDA STAKEHOLDERS CONSTRUCT A COMMUNITY SECONDARY SCHOOL.
In abide to save learners from walking long distances, stakeholders in Kitonzi parish, Mahyoro Sub County, Kitagwenda district decided to construct a secondary school.
Started this year with 35 students in senior one, Kitonzi secondary school aims to enroll more students in the area.
Francis Agaba who is the chairperson board said they were compiled to start a secondary school in the area to save learners from walking distances to access education in other areas.
While leading a service to mark the fundraising, ven.rev.Enock Mpirirwe the archdeacon Mahyoro archdeaconary commended the stakeholders who started the idea for supporting education.
Hon Robert Kamasaka former LC5 chairperson greater Kamwenge said the project was timely.
Former MP Kitagwenda Abbas Agaba Mugisha and Robert Mugaba former LC5 chairperson Kitagwenda, asked the woman member of parliament to lobby for the school to be taken by government.
Officiating at the function, hon. Dorothy Nyakato the woman Member of Parliament commended the Kitonzi church of Uganda for giving a 5 acre land to the school which is a requirement for the government to grant aid to a school. She contributed 2 million shillings.
