KITAGWENDA HIGH SCHOOL ACQUIRES USE/ UPOLET CAPITATION GRANT

Kitagwenda high school located in Kabujogera town council Kitagwenda district, a Roman Catholic Church-government founded secondary school started that in 1980 has today acquired Universal Secondary Education (USE) and Universal Post O’Level Education and Training (UPOLET) programs capitation grant.

This has been revealed by the school chairman PTA Innocent Gucubwa during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) today. 

He said that to acquire this status, has been an effort of the head teacher, governing body and Kitagwenda district local government education department. 

The school head teacher, Simon Ahimbisibwe said that the overall objectives of the meeting was to acquaint parents with what is happening in the school, planning together, monitoring and evaluation and making recommendations to the board of governors. 

He also explained that the school will start benefiting from the USE/UPOLET capitation grant in the next financial year which will relieve candidates from paying high registration fees. He added that government will now contribute shs55,000 and shs85,000 for O and A level respectively. 

Meanwhile; speaking as the chief guest, the Kitagwenda district inspector of schools in charge of special needs, Lauben Muhereza who represented the district education officer asked parents to keep supporting the school despite the step taken under USE/UPOLET capitation grant.
