KASHONGI RESIDENTS RECIEVE COFFEE SEEDLINGS

Residents of Kitura parish, Kitura Sub-County in Kashongi Constituency, Kiruhura District, have today received 10000 robusta coffee seedlings from the former Member of Parliament for Kashongi Constituency, Hon. Genensio Tumuramye. 

The distribution of the seedlings was at Kitura Sub-County headquarters this morning led by the Chairman of the farmers’ forum Kitura Sub-County, Katura Ssalongo.

According to Genensio Tumuramye, over 100,000 seedlings will be freely distributed in the whole Constituency as a move to social economic transformation for households in Kashongi 

While launching the distribution exercise, Genensio asked beneficiaries to embrace coffee farming because the crop so far is one of the leading cash crops in Uganda

During the distribution exercise, Katura asked beneficiaries to ensure farming the seedlings in time but also advised on the methodologies. 

Our reporter spoke to some of the beneficiaries who said were hopeful of the harvests in the future
