JOY AS KITAGWENDA RESIDENTS ACCESS TO CLEAN AND SAFE WATER

Residents of Buhanda B cell, Kengyeya Parish Buhanda Sub County and Nyanga two in Kitonzi parish,Mahyoro sub county, Kitagwenda district have a cause to smile after gaining access to safe and clean water, ending nearly two decades of depending on contaminated water sources.
The boreholes commissioned yesterday, were donated by Joan Asiimwe, who intends to stand on the woman member of parliament Kitagwenda.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony yesterday, Asiimwe noted that she was concerned to lobby the boreholes following appeals from local residents over lack of access to clean water.

Asiimwe added that she successfully lobbied for six boreholes to be installed in different areas to improve living conditions for families.
local leaders,who commended Joan Asiimwe for the project urged the residents to take responsibility for maintaining the boreholes.
Joan Asiimwe, formerly Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), stalwart,crossed to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) in April 2024, citing political differences. She is now among the aspirants vying for the Woman MP seat in the 2026 general elections.
