In a major step towards enhancing digital connectivity in rural Uganda, Airtel Uganda has commissioned four new 4G network sites in Ibanda District.

The new installations, located in Kakoma, Ishongororo B, ATC Rwenkobwa, Ishongororo Town, ATC Ishongororo, Ibanda Kahini, ATC-Muhangi and OUL-Ibanda are now fully operational and set to significantly improve network coverage across the region.
This development is part of Airtel Uganda’s broader national strategy to bridge the digital divide and deliver a seamless digital experience through its 100% 4G network.
Speaking during the official launch ceremony held in Bishozi on Thursday, JohnMark Ganantawa, the Airtel Uganda Regional Business Manager, emphasized the company’s commitment to driving socio-economic transformation through reliable connectivity.
The launch was warmly received by community leaders and residents. Steven Bebwa, Chairperson of Ishongoro Sub County and chief guest at the event, lauded Airtel Uganda for its investment in the area.
The move is a reflection of Airtel Uganda’s mission to ensure that no Ugandan is left behind in the digital age. By investing in infrastructure and expanding its reach to underserved areas, the company continues to play a pivotal role in advancing the country’s digital and economic progress.
With these four new sites, Airtel Uganda reinforces its position as a leader in digital connectivity, enabling residents of Ibanda District to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
