The Ibanda District Local Government under the department of agriculture has distributed three motorcycles to three extension workers to ease service delivery.

The move aims to boost agriculture, livestock production, enhance disease control and empower agricultural staffs who have been struggling to deliver services due to lack of transport and facilitation.
The beneficiaries include Robert Musiba Besiima, the agriculture officer Nyamarebe sub county in Ibanda North, Apollo Agaba, a veterinary doctor in Igorora town council and John Ronald Wamala, the Veterinary Doctor at Kyikyenkye Sub County in Ibanda South.
During the distribution of motorcycles, Peter Abaho Bwengye, the Ibanda District Agriculture officer noted that the mobility challenge faced by the extension staff has been addressed.
Speaking to our reporter shortly after receiving motorcycles, beneficiaries commended the government together with the District officials for the support and vowed to visit every farmer in their different areas.
Meanwhile, the Ibanda District chairman, Happy Herbert Mayanja urged beneficiaries to use the motorcycles efficiently and for purposeful reasons, warning against misuse.
