IBANDA RESIDENTS GIVE MIXED REACTIONS ON INDEPENDENCE

As Uganda prepares for her 62nd independence tomorrow, across section of residents in Ibanda have given mixed reactions on the day.
Every 9th October Uganda cerebrates her independence from the British protectorate in 1962.
This year’s independence cerebrations will be held at Busiko teachers’ training college in Musanafu town council, Busia district under the theme “A Recommitment to Secure and Fortify our Destiny”
“Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.”
Our reporter has interviewed various people to assess their opinions about the Independence Day cerebrations.
Anslem Arinaitwe the FDC chairperson Ibanda district said Uganda is not yet independent since it still depends on foreign countries for her economic growth.
Rev Emmanuel Kabuririza the North West Ankore Diocesan children’s co-coordinator said there has been peace and stability since Uganda’s independence.
Christine Buruhwari a resident of katooma cell, kagongo division Ibanda municipality told our reporter that Ugandans have been enjoying a lot of freedom since Uganda became independent from the British protectorate.
