IBANDA RDC ORDERS FOR ARREST OF TWO BUSINESS MEN OVER FAILURE TO ADHERE TO PRESIDENTIAL DIRECRIVE ON WETLAND

The RDC Ibanda Godfrey Mbetegyereize has ordered the Ibanda district police commander SP Paul Katwesige to immediately arrest two business men in Ibanda town over failure to the presidential directive on environmental degradation.

The two identified as Godwin Tusiime a coffee dealer and Muzamiru Bateyo who deals in furniture were recently arrested by security operatives over encroaching on Kirimirire wetland along Ibanda-Mbarara road.

 They were ordered to remove piles of murrum which they had put there to establish their own businesses in order to restore the swamp.

This has forced the   RDC to order for their arrest for failure to comply with the directive.
