Three arrested for theft in Rubanda

The territorial police in Rubanda yesterday afternoon arrested three suspects allegedly for stealing from motor vehicle at Karukara market within Hamirwa town council along Kabale Kisoro highway, which was on the 21/05/2026, past midnight.
The Kigezi region police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate has identified the suspects as Ivan Arigye 20, of Rugarama Kakore,
Dancan Niwaha of Kamuterere Kakore and
Justus Ainamani of Muyorere Kitawulira.
It’s alleged that, the DPC Rubanda SP Tumwebaze JB received a call to the effect that unidentified thugs had intercepted and cut some truck occupants at Karukara market within Hamurwa Town Council, and robbed some items.
DPC dispatched a team from Hamurwa Police Station but unfortunately found when the thugs had already disappeared. Shortly while at Hakakondogoro Trading centre near Karukara, the team intercepted thugs transporting a suspected stolen calf on motorcycle Reg. No. UEV 958H Bajaj Boxer red in colour who fled abandoning both the motorcycle and the calf which were later taken to Hamurwa Police Station pending further investigations.
He left actionable intelligence and operations personnel on the ground and later on the three suspects were identified by the victim hence were accordingly arrested for prosecution.
