The territorial Police in Ibanda district is hunting for a man who allegedly murdered two women in Kanyansheko ward Ibanda municipality.
According to the Ibanda resident district commissioner (RDC) Godfrey Mbetegyerize, the incident happened last night in Kyarufubangyi village whereby Posiano Turyamureeba murdered his Phiona Nsimenta and neighbor Oliva Nalugo.
According to preliminary reports, Turyahebwa allegedly attacked and killed one by one before fleeing the scene of crime.
The Division internal security officer (DISO) for Kagongo Division in Ibanda Municipality Robert Tumusiime condemned the incident, describing it as unfortunate act.
Jackson Byamugisha ,the LC1 Chairperson of Kyarufubangyi village said that before the incident, he had never received any reports or complaints relating to domestic violence or family disputes involving the family.
Area councillors who visited the scene also condemned the act and called upon police to bring suspect to book.
Bodies of the deceased were taken to Ruhoko Health Centre IV for postmortem.
