Two confirmed dead, others injured in Rubanda accident

The territorial police in Rubanda registered a fatal road crash that claimed lives of two people and critically injured three others.
According to the Kigezi region police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate, this was on the 16/05/2026 at about 1530 hours at
Nyakiharo village Bubare parish Bubare sub county along Kabale Kisoro road in Rubanda district, where
motor vehicle reg no. UAJ 098V T/ corolla gray in colour and motor vehicle reg no. RAH 802Q/ RL 6749 Howo white and blue in colour were involved.
The deceased persons are Faith Kiconco 20, a resident of Kamuserwa village in Rubanda town council Rubanda district and Alex Namukujije 33, Rwandan national as per identity card got on him.
The injured victims are Javira Mwesigwa 33, of Bugongii upper in Kabale municipality, driver of the T/corolla.
Two other men who were rushed to Kabale refereral hosiptal in critical condition.
Its alleged that both mvs were facing different directions however due to speed mv RH 802Q failed to properly negotiate a corner at Nyakiharo village and ended up ramming into a corolla in its lane from the opposite direction kiling two people on spot and injuring others who were rushed to Kabale regional hospital.
The scene was visited and documented, the
victims rushed to kabale regional hospital and bodies of deceased were conyed to Kabale hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Mv UAJ 098V corolla towed to Rubanda police station while Mv reg RH 802Q still around the scene but off road as its pending off loading and will be towed to the station for inspection and it’s
driverl on run.
