The National Water and Sewerage Corporation -NWSC Ibanda area manager, George Ongwech has confirmed Ibanda area water supply interruptions in the Cells of Kyaruhanga I, Kyaruhanga II, Miginda, Kyereta and part of Kitwe cells.

The National Water and Sewerage Corporation -NWSC Ibanda area manager, George Ongwech has confirmed Ibanda area water supply interruptions in the Cells of Kyaruhanga I, Kyaruhanga II, Miginda, Kyereta and part of Kitwe cells.
According to Ongwech, water supply interruption in the mentioned areas will be during day time to allow NWSC technical team carry out major rehabilitation works in Kyereta water source.The works that started on April 24, 2024 and expected to end on April 29, 2024 include full restoration of Kyereta water source, opening source eyes, desilting, unblocking the delivery pipe lines to the segmentation tank and laying of a parallel transmission pipe line HDPE 450 meters along the existing HDPE 2″ line from the segmentation tank to the Kyereta water source Reservoir tank.The intervention is aimed at improving the current water production from 75 Cubics per day to 150 cubics per day and this will greatly improve water supplied to the affected dry zones in the respective cells.The whole work is estimated to take one week with intermittent water supply through the night.He has therefore asked residents in the affected areas to reserve water and also use it sparingly the ongoing water supply stabilization works.
