The Ibanda district kids’ athletics zonal competitions have been successfully concluded.

The Ibanda district kids’ athletics zonal competitions have been successfully concluded.

The zonal competitions which took place at Saaza grounds saw 7 zones participating with the intention of selecting a team to represent the district at the national level.

The kids participated in seven events.

Speaking at the event Robert Nyesigire the district sports officer commended the education department for supporting the event to ensure it becomes successful. He added that the selected team of 12 kids will further be trained to ensure it successfully participates.

Peter Nsimire the district education officer threatened to take action against head teachers who have failed to participate in sports activities. He asked the selected team to be disciplined.

Rukiri zone was the first, followed by Ishongororo as the second, Kikyenkye, third while Kijongo zone was the seventh.

The selected team will be trained before heading to Luwero for the national competitions on 07^th May 2023.
