The Ibanda district council has today passed the 2024/2025 budget of shillings 38.9 billion during a lengthy council sitting chaired by the district council speaker, Godwin Muhumuza Oulanya.
Referring to the local government act chapter 243 section 35(1) that designates district councils as the planning authorities for the district, the secretary for finance and planning, Hon John Tushemereirwe Kapimpi moved a motion to approve the district budget.According to Kapimpi, the district budget was discussed by the technical planning, executive and standing committees.He indicated that all committees recommended it for the approval by the district council.Meanwhile; speaking immediately after passing the budget, the Ibanda district chairman, Happy Herbert Mayanja assured councilors that their recommendations will be worked on.
