RWASHANDE PROMISES TO SERVE ONE TERM IN PARLIAMENT

SEMBABULE

Retired Brigadier General Emmanuel Rwashande, the newly elected NRM flag bearer for Lwemiyaga County, has pledged to serve only one term in Parliament if elected in the 2026 general elections.

Rwashande made the commitment yesterday during an interview on Television.

Two weeks ago he defeated the long-serving incumbent MP Theodore Ssekikubo in the party primaries with 54.3% of the vote.

He said his primary goal is to remove Ssekikubo, whom he blamed for the lack of development in Lwemiyaga.

Ssekikubo, who has represented Lwemiyaga County for 25 years, was criticised by Rwashande for failing to deliver basic services to constituents.

Rwashande’s victory marks a significant shift in the constituency’s political landscape, potentially ending Ssekikubo’s long-standing dominance.
