Public in Kitagwenda district worried over the poor state of roads.

The public in Kitagwenda district is worried over the poor state of roads following the heavy rains that affected them last year and up to now.

The most affected district roads are three and these include; Kyotamushana-Ihunga-Katoma, Ruhunga road and Kicwamba-Nganiko-Nyabanni out of the six district roads.

According to the residents in areas with the most affected roads, roads are full of potholes which make it difficult for them to move smoothly from one to another. They ask the government to intervene and work on these roads.

The Kitagwenda district chairperson, Ismail Mushemeza says that the district is still facing a challenge of lacking a road unit. He says the issue of poor roads is always the issue whenever he goes. He also says that the district has money on the account to work on these roads but they have no road equipment but instead they are waiting for other neighboring districts to assist them.

Mushemeza also says that until the district gets its own road unit, all the issues of poor roads will be solve

Kitagwenda district works department is allocated a budget of over 70 million to work on district roads.
