IBANDA MAN REMANDED OVER HOUSE BREAKING

The Ishongororo grade one magistrate’s court sitting in Ibanda district presided over by his worship Fred Mutabazi today adjourned and remanded Swamadu Mugisha to prison over charges of theft and house breaking.
Court heard that in June 2024, Swamadu, a resident of Kayanja I in Kijongo sub-county Ibanda district broke into a house of Keledonia Katushabe of the same area and stole five basins of millet, two basins of ground nuts, one basin of maize, a mattress and one bar of soap.
Prosecution also told court that Swamadu was seen with two basins of ground nuts and millet when he took it to the home of one Jessica Ashaba for sale.
The same court heard that on October 06, 2024 at around 3 PM while in Kayanja II in Kijongo sub-county Ibanda district, Swamadu was found picking coffee in the garden of Richard Tumuhimbise.
It is alleged that by the time they found him in the garden, had about 45 kilograms foiled in the mosquito net.
Appearing before court today, this case was adjourned to April 02, 2025 since the state attorney is on leave.
