Endure temptations during the lent period, Catholic Bishop tells Christians

The bishop Fort Portal diocese Rt. Rev. Robert K Muhirwa Akiiki to endure temptations during the Lenten season as a way to overcome the devil.

The prelate made the remarks yesterday while leading a mass that marked the climax of prayers for the st.Jude Thaddeus movement at Viraka cathedral.

During the Holy, animated by Kitagwenda Parish, Bishop Robert K. Muhiirwa Akiiki reminded the congregation that, like Jesus, they may face temptations they should trust God through the Holy Spirit to guide them.

The bishop advised believers to fast from daily addictions, and sharing with those in need.

Margaret Kanyunyuzi Atwoki, the St. Jude devotion Diocesan leader noted that the movement has taken a step in shaping members spiritually which has attracted many Christians to join.

Rev. Fr. Silvanus Barikurungi, representing the Pontifical Mission Societies at the Diocese, commended the movement leaders for demonstrating their faith.

Annociata Atwiine, the devotion’s leader Kitagwenda Parish, the parish that organized the event, attributed the movement’s growth to cooperation between priest and diocesan leaders.
