Electorates implored to vote competent leaders

The electorates have been implored to vote for competence instead of financial status and friendship during the ingoing National Resistance Movement (NRM) party elections.

The call was made by Emmanuel Twebaze Omugalanda who is vying for the district councilor seat to represent Rukiri Sub County to the district council.

Omugalanda was commissioning a gravitational water scheme he donated to the residents of Mpunda cell, Bwenda Parish in Rukiri Sub County Ibanda South. He asked Ugandans to desist from accepting peanuts in exchange of their mandate especially during elections.

Residents and beneficiaries of the water scheme hailed Omugalanda for prioritizing community needs even before assuming office.

According to the residents, they have been trekking long distances to access water, on top of it not being safe for human consumption.

Gilvazio Byanyima, the chairperson LCI Mpunda cell urged other leaders to emulate him.
