Councilors from Ibanda north have queried district top district officials from the Education department for being slow in the construction of some schools in the area.

The schools include Kangoma primary school in Rushango town council that was in budget for the financial year 2022-2023.

Councilors were speaking during the Ibanda district local government council meeting at the district council hall on Monday.

Julius Tabarothe councilor for Rushango town council, PenninahOrikwirizawho represents Nyamarebe sub-county, Kanyarigiri town council and Rushango town council and Samson Mugabe representing Nyamarebe sub-county said that the2021-2022 council meeting passed a budget witha projectof seven schools to be built.

Of the seven schools,Rushango town council aliasKangoma primary school was neglected in addition to other services delayed in Ibanda north.

In response to the councilors, Elias Tumubwinethe Ibanda Vice chairperson who represented the district chairman noted that the district had conveniences with the contractor who was never clear to the district on the date to start the project.

He added that the district terminated the contract with the contractor and the project will start soon.
