Man Denies Sexually Abusing Dog

Buganda Road Chief Magistrates Court was thrown into an unusual scene on Monday when a man appeared before Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi on charges of engaging in sexual activity with a dog.
John Muwanguzi was asked to explain why he chose a dog over a woman. He vehemently denied the charges.
Muwanguzi, visibly shaken, told the court that the allegations were fabricated by colleagues at the boda boda stage where he works.
“Your Worship, those are lies. It is a setup at the boda stage I work at,” he said.
The complainants were absent in court, and the magistrate tasked them to produce solid evidence supporting their claims.
Meanwhile, a man claiming to be the chairperson of the boda boda stage in Kisaasi, where Muwanguzi is employed, said there were witnesses to the alleged crime.
The hearing took a dramatic turn when Muwanguzi’s sureties accused the so-called chairperson of falsely implicating their relative.
They claimed that the dog belonged to their son, a nephew of the accused, and alleged that the family has been targeted with false accusations, including one relative who was previously taken to police under similar circumstances.
Chief Magistrate Kayizzi adjourned the matter to October 22, 2025, to begin hearing the case and to consider the accused’s bail application.
He also tasked the complainants to return to the court with evidence against the accused.
