10 year old boy commits suicide by hanging

The territorial police in Rukungiri have registered a suicide by hanging incident of a 10 year old Benedicto Gumisiriza a pupil at Mutariga primary school and resident of Nyamubogore cell Nyeibingo parish Kebisoni Sub county Rukungiri district.
According to the Kigezi region police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate, it is alleged that on the 08/05/2026 at around 1400hrs, the deceased locked the door of his room from inside and passed through the window to unknown place.
In the evening at around 1930hrs, he returned home and the mother one Kentaro Evelyn interviewed him about where he was, instead of replying, he took off to an unknown place.
Maate explained that the deceased was discovered by his elder sister Ruth Nduhukire hanging on a coffee plant tied by a banana fiber at around 2100hrs who notified their mother who also reported to the area police.
The scene of crime was visited by the district police commander and team, relevant statements recorded from witnesses and the body was handed over to the relatives for burial.
