Selling Immature Coffee Compromises Quality, Ibanda Farmers Warned

Authorities in Ibanda district have warned farmers to desist from selling immature coffee saying the move affects the quality of coffee in the country.
Silver Nkwasibwe, the senior agriculture officer Ibanda district told our reporter in an exclusive interview that although farmers are aware that it is only ripe coffee to be harvested, many are lured harvest immature which compromises the quality of coffee.
He warned that any coffee farmer as per coffee act who will be found selling immature coffee berries will be arrested and prosecuted.
Silver added that the most affected sub county is Kijongo Sub County warning them to avoid such practices if they want to be safe with their coffee.
