LIGHTENING KILLS FIVE IN NTUNGAMO

NTUNGAMO -FEDNAND 

Police in Ntungamo District registered a natural disaster  where five people were struck by lightening in Rwakashanga cell Rwahi Town Council in Ntungamo district at around 1700/c on the 19/08/2025 during a heavy down pour of rain.

The Rwizi region police spokesperson SP Samson Kasasira identified the deceased as Edgar Taremwa aged 38 Jackline Nduhukire 44, Alexander Mwaka 25 and two unknown male adults aged between 50 and 30 respectively alleged to be from Ruhaama Ntungamo District.

It’s alleged that on the 19/08/2025 early in the morning eight people went to dig in the gardens of Ruhwabwoba and Kidede both of Rwakashanga cell,Rwentobo Rwahai Town Council at around 1700/c,it rained heavily and they run for shelter in the nearby home at the verandah as the doors were closed lightening struck once and killed the five victims instantly 

Four bodies that were identified were handed over to their families for burial and one that was unknown was taken to Itojo Hospital mortuary.
