 KITAGWENDA RESIDENTS DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY BEFORE NEXT ELECTIONS

Residents of Kitagwenda district are demanding accountability from their leaders over service delivery.

The frustration is mounting from locals grappling with worsening service delivery, compounded by the perceived lack of engagement from their elected representatives.

During the 2021 elections, voters in Kitagwenda elected Nulu Joseph Byamukama as the county MP, Dorothy Nyakato Nzibonera the woman member of parliament and Ismail Mushemeza as the district chairperson. However, residents have expressed disappointment as they face challenges such as poor road infrastructure, inadequate healthcare, and limited educational facilities among others.

Speaking over the weekend at the launch of Bukurungo community secondary school in Bukurungo town council over the weekend, residents expressed concern over missing services such as tarmac road, lower power connectivity, and health centers which has stalled development.

One of the residents expressed disappointment over gross corruption which has made people to lose hope in their district.

In response to the matter, hon. Dorothy Nyakato Nzibonera, the woman MP and Joseph Nulu Byamukama said most projects are in the pipeline appealing to residents to be patient.
