IBANDA CHAIRPERSON IN THE SPOTLIGHT OVER STAMP MISUSE

The LC2 Chairperson Kabaare ward in Bisheshe division, Ibanda municipality Martin Ayebazibwe is on the spot over stamp misuse.
Martin is accused by several people ofillegally using his stamp tocharge to authorize illegal land transactions in the area.
Trouble started after Crescent Ahimbisibwe allegedly conspired with Martin to buy a contested piece of land.
Later on, it was discovered that a section of family members had not appended signatures on the land agreement and it bore the LC2 stamp.
Dickson Twesigye one of the family members whose land was sold unaware has asked the anti corruption to intervene in the matter and arrest Martin who has overstepped his powers.
One of the elderly women who declined to be mentioned her name over security purposes said such cases are fueled by corrupt officers who are supposed to Mann land disputes.
Sharon NankundaMuganda the area councilor has condemned the vice urging leaders to avoid misusing their powers.
When contacted for a comment over the matter, Martin who was chairing local council two meeting to solve the impasse declined to talk to our reporter.
