FRESH FLOODS HIT IBANDA
Residents of Kyaruhanga Kyereta cell, Kyaruhanga ward, Kagongo division, Ibanda municipality are living in fear after floods devastated their area.
Floods which were caused by heavy rain destroyed crops such as maize, g.nuts, millet, beans, sweet potatoes among others left residents stranded with fear of being struck by famine.
The floods also blocked access roads barring motorists from reaching the area.
According to the Secretary for Defense Kyaruhanga ward, Robert Bobs Kigambo, no person was hurt but crops were destroyed.
He is asking government to support the affected residents.
Some residents who talked to our Reporter said they are living in fear their homes may be swept away anytime if floods continue.
authorities at Ibanda municipality were yet to compile reports about the affected area to be submitted to the office of the prime minister for relief aid.
