CupIn a thrilling showdown at the Ibanda Saaza playground on Sunday, the Electrical Installation (EI) team clinched the prestigious Alliance Vocational School-Ibanda Guild Cup 2026, defeating the defending champions, the Business Department, with a decisive score of 2-0.The match was a nail-biter, showcasing the skill and determination of both teams. However, it was EI’s Timothy Akanyijuka and Edwin Abaho who emerged as the heroes of the day, each netting a goal that secured their team’s victory and brought immense pride to their supporters. This win is particularly significant for the EI team, who did not advance past the group stage in the previous year’s tournament.In a parallel contest, the girls from the Business Department successfully defended their title through Daphine Nuwahereza (ICT) and Gift Musiimenta (Accounting and Finance), overcoming the Technical Department in an equally competitive match. Their victory added to the excitement of the day, highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship that permeated the tournament.During the awarding ceremony, the school Principal Kenneth Taremwa praised all participants for their discipline and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. The tournament top scorer Edwin Abaho (04 goals) received a full bursary for second term with half bursary for the two girls who outshone the rest in finding the back of the net.
