CONDOM SHORTAGE IN IBANDA WORRIES BAR OWNERS

The scarcity of condoms in public facilities has forced bar and guest house owners in Ibanda to seek services from private facilities.
Bars had earlier been relying on the government through public facilities to get condom supplies.
However following the withdrawal of donors, public facilities have run short of condom services.
Our reporter conducted a spot check on some bar and guest houses to assess the situation.
At Afrikana bar and lodges, David Beinomugishathe Manager said they now struggle to buy condoms from private clinics. He asked for the government’s intervention.
The Manager of Safe Way Inn Bar and accommodation Robson Mutungi told our reporter that they use an average number of 24 Condoms per day which is expensive.
Some of the Bar maids asked the government through the Ministry of Health to take the matter as an emergency.
