ANTHRAX KILLS TWO IN KAZO

Anthrax has killed two people in Kazo district.
The deceased have been identified as Jonan Ariho 25 and Innocent Tibihikire Ssallongo all residents of Keicumu parish, Engari sub county.
According the relatives, the two who have been butchers reportedly developed signs of anthrax five days after consuming the meat.
They were rushed to health facilities where they died shortly after reaching.
The acting district veterinary officer Kazo district Alfred Nabimanya who confirmed that the two died of anthrax said they are investigating the source of the infected meat.
Cyril Twesigye, the chairperson LCI kigaaga noted that the two died on 10th December 2024.
Dan Tumwiine the Engaari district councilor asked residents to identify and report quickly such case to authorities to avoid more death.
