One confirmed dead in a Hit and Run Fatal Road Accident in Kabale

The territorial police in Kabale registered a Hit and Run Fatal Road Accident, where one Alfred Turyatunga a male adult died on spot.
According to the Kigezi region police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate, this accident happened yesterday at about 2130hrs at Kabaraga village along Kabale Mbarara road in Kabale district.
Maate said that the deceased is a resident of Karuma village Kyanamira sub county in Kabale district.
The deceased is alleged to have been knocked by yet to be established vehicle, when they developed a scuffle over a tricycle which was parked along the road loaded with iron sheets and they suspected it stolen and tried to intervene.
In the process, he fell in an oncoming vehicle from Mbarara side and he was knocked and he died on spot but the motor vehicle did not stop and others ran away including the rider of the tricycle.
The scene was visited,. processed and documented, body was taken to Kabale hospital mortuary for postmortem, tricycle parked at Kabale CPS and inquiries still at hand.
