PRESIDENT MUSEVENI PROMISES TO IMPROVE ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE AND COFFEE DRYERS TO IBANDA

There was excitement at St.George’s demonstration play ground in Kagongo Division Ibanda municipality where the National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential candidate H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni held a campaign rally ahead of 2026 general elections.
Museveni was warmly received by thousands of residents and local leaders.
The rally drew notable figures, including Dr.Patrick Bitature, NRM sectrary General, Richard Todwong and Hon. Eng. John Byabagambi, former Minister for Works and Transport, and Hon. Jovrine Kalisa Kyomuka the Ibanda NRM chairperson, among others.
In a memorandum read by Hon.Kalisa Kyomukama, the district leaders asked president Museveni to provide more tractors and coffee hullers to the district, tarmack the Ibanda-Kitagwenda-Kyambura road, and water extension in Ibanda north.
The speaker of parliament and the party second National Vice Chairperson, Rt. Hon.Anita Annet Among commended president Museveni for approving the Ibanda-Nyakahita road which will be commissioned in September 2026.
She also reminded the president of the Ibanda-Kitagwenda tarmac road.
In his address, President Museveni emphasized that peace and unity remained the foundation of Uganda’s progress, crediting his government for ending sectarianism and building strong security institutions.
He highlighted major infrastructure achievements, citing roads connecting Ibanda to Kazo, Kiruhura, Kamwenge, and Fort Portal.
